Captain v President Match

What a great afternoon of bowls we had for our annual Captain v President match! With 30 players taking part, we had 5 triples rotating every 6 ends, so everyone played a full 18 ends in total – plenty of time for great shots, near misses, wayward stray bowls and lots of laughs!

Although President Tim was unable to play, he certainly made his presence felt, offering enthusiastic support from the sidelines and celebrating with gusto when his team emerged victorious — though it was by the narrowest of margins, just 2 points separating the two teams!

A rather unusual occurrence was the spider competition, which saw both captains…Ladies’ Captain Inger and Men’s Captain Roy … claim victory - a rare joint win that felt perfectly fitting for the day.

After all the bowls were bowled, we headed inside for a lovely post-match meal prepared by Lisa – huge thanks to her for keeping us well fed. The atmosphere was relaxed and cheerful, and many of us carried on into the evening at the bar, enjoying a few drinks and lots of friendly badinage.

It was a great afternoon filled with camaraderie, competition, and fun -everything bowls should be.

Thanks to everyone who played, supported, and helped make the day a success. Until next time!
